On April 27-28, 2024, the seminar on reviving the ceramic culture of Fu'an Ancient Kiln in Hainan was held in the Coffee Culture and Style Town of Fushan, Hainan. This seminar brought together more than 20 well-known experts and scholars, ceramic masters, ceramic industry elites from both inside and outside the island, as well as experts and scholars from Tsinghua University, Hainan University, Hainan Provincial Museum, Haikou University of Economics, Chengmai County government and other institutions to explore how to excavate and inherit the ancient kiln culture of Fu'an, create cultural and creative products with regional characteristics, and fully promote the inheritance and development of Hainan ceramic culture. This seminar is not only an in-depth exploration of intangible cultural heritage art and culture, but also a vivid manifestation of Chengmai Fushan Development Co., Ltd.'s mission and responsibility as a state-owned enterprise.

This seminar is hosted by the Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports Bureau of Chengmai County, Hainan Province, the Management Committee of Chengmai Fushan Coffee Culture and Style Town, and the Hainan Ceramic Culture Industry Association. It is organized by Fushan Coffee Culture and Style Town and co organized by Hainan Hongkanling Cultural Development Co., Ltd.

At the meeting, Wang Changquan, Secretary of the Qiongtai Base Working Committee and Director of the Leading Group Office in Chengmai County, and Secretary of the Fushan Coffee Culture and Style Town Working Committee, pointed out in his speech that deeply exploring the historical and cultural connotations of Fu'an Ancient Kiln, actively promoting its cultural value inheritance and development, is of great significance for significantly enhancing the cultural soft power of Fushan region and promoting economic development. He explicitly proposed that the cultural connotation of Fu'an Kiln should be fully explored and integrated with coffee culture to carefully create unique cultural and creative products.

In his speech, Chen Haoyang, General Manager of Fushan Development Co., Ltd., detailed the company's new strategic plan, which focuses on "coffee industry, cultural and creative design, park supporting facilities, and Qiongtai cooperation" as the core, and is committed to creating a composite development model of "cultural tourism+park". He earnestly hopes to innovate and develop cultural and creative products with Hainan characteristics by cleverly combining coffee culture and ceramic art, effectively promoting the vigorous development of the local cultural industry.

Yao Ming, President of Hainan Ceramic Association, Cui Yanghe, General Manager of Hainan Hongkanling Cultural Development Co., Ltd., Yang Fan, Director of Ceramic Art and Design Department of Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts, and other experts gave wonderful speeches on the current situation of Hainan's ceramic industry, the history and culture of Fu'an Ancient Kiln, ceramic art and design, and other topics, bringing profound inspiration and reflection to the participants.

In the keynote speech segment, three teachers from the School of Fine Arts at Tsinghua University, Zhang Xing, Yang Fan, and Qiu Gengyu, shared topics such as creating characteristic ceramic artworks based on local materials and crafts, designing ceramic cultural and creative products, and designing coffee utensils, presenting a feast of ceramic art and design for everyone.

At the end of the meeting, Yao Ming, on behalf of the Hainan Ceramic Culture Industry Association, awarded the "Ceramic Art Practice Base" to Fushan Coffee Culture and Style Town.

The successful holding of the seminar on the revival of Hainan Fu'an ancient kiln ceramic culture will inject new vitality and hope into the cultural revival of Hainan ceramics.
